Tanbir Dhami has practised family law exclusively since his call to the bar in 2023. He handles child support, spousal support, division of property and assets, parenting arrangements and parenting time, and relocation, along with cohabitation and marriage agreements, separation agreements, and desk order divorces.
Tanbir’s approach focuses on the best interests of the children. He does not believe it serves his clients to deepen the divide between the parties; his goal is to reduce conflict so that parties can co-parent more effectively and resolve their legal issues sooner. When a situation calls for it, he stands firm for his clients and their children.
He believes strongly in resolving disputes outside of court and sparing clients unnecessary stress, expense, and delay. Where a matter does proceed, he appears at both the Provincial Court of British Columbia and the Supreme Court of British Columbia.
Tanbir studied criminology at Kwantlen Polytechnic University before completing his law degree at the University of Leicester, where he volunteered with a pro bono service for the city’s homeless community, providing meals alongside general legal information.
He was drawn to family law because it lets him support people through difficult circumstances with both expertise and compassion, and he takes pride in attentive service, so that his clients feel looked after throughout their matter.
