Irene A. Pietrow
Family Lawyer
Irene joined Pier Law & Mediation in April 2026.
Irene has been advising family law clients since 1985 and is a senior member of the family law bar. Over her career she has helped many clients reach negotiated or mediated settlements, and she has a keen appreciation for the value of resolving matters outside of court in a way that protects her client’s interests. Where settlement isn’t possible, Irene is an experienced and effective litigator who has appeared at all levels of court in British Columbia.
Irene enjoys strategizing with her clients across the full range of family law matters, from the straightforward to the very difficult. She has extensive experience with complex financial issues as well as matters involving children, including guardianship, parenting arrangements, and parenting time.
Irene holds a Commerce degree and a law degree from the University of British Columbia. She was a partner and member of the management committee of a mid-sized Greater Vancouver firm before founding Pietrow Law Group in 2008, which she led until joining Pier Law & Mediation.
She has instructed legal seminars for organizations including the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia, People’s Law School, and the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia. Irene has served as Chair of the Family Law Subsection of the New Westminster Branch of the Canadian Bar Association and as an Executive Member at Large of the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia.
