Because of this sponsorship, our teenage employees receive traffic control certification and emergency first aid training. These are valuable, transferable skills that benefit them far beyond their time at the market. Many of our youth start working with us at just 14 years old and return year after year—even coming back as summer students while they’re in university. It’s been amazing to watch them grow in confidence and capability. Last year, we hired three youth team members, and this year we’re doubling that number.
