Katya Buck

Katya Buck’s goal is to listen to her clients, understand their legal issues, and partner with them in creative problem-solving.

Katya Buck is a compassionate and solutions-focused lawyer based in Powell River, British Columbia. She works closely with her clients to understand their legal needs and guide them through creative, practical solutions. Katya holds a Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas, and was called to the Texas Bar in 2007 and the British Columbia Bar in 2011.

Before entering law, Katya earned a Master of Social Work and worked as a medical social worker, bringing a strong foundation of empathy and advocacy to her legal career. Since returning to Powell River in 2009, she has built a broad practice with a focus on Family Law, Wills and Estate Planning—including Powers of Attorney and Health Care Representation Agreements—and Probate. Her experience also includes corporate, commercial, and real estate law.

Katya is deeply involved in her community, serving on the boards of Powell River Community Futures, PRISMA, the Rotary Club of Powell River, and the Westview Elementary PAC. She also volunteers with local sports teams and frequently presents to community groups on legal topics.

Outside of work, Katya enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, gardening, photography, and playing with her dog.
